Release highlights¶
- Arm, ARC and RISC-V hardware debugging: Debug applications on Arm, ARC and RISC-V targets with Ashling Vitra-XS, Opella-XD or Opella-LD debug probes.
- RISC-V QEMU simulator debugging: Debug RISC-V applications without target hardware or a licence.
- CMake and Make builds: Build CMake and Make projects directly from the Ashling Project View.
- Graphical debug configuration: Configure debug sessions in a graphical editor instead of editing
launch.json. - RTOS-aware debug: Inspect tasks and their state while debugging FreeRTOS, Zephyr and µC/OS-II applications.
- Simultaneous heterogeneous multicore debug: Debug several cores of different types on the same device at the same time, each in its own debug session.
- Peripheral register inspection: Inspect and change peripheral registers and their bit fields on supported devices.
- SDK Manager: Install, verify and manage Ashling SDKs, including GCC toolchains and the matching build and debug tools.
- Example projects: Import ready-to-build example projects from installed SDKs.
- Get Started walkthrough: A step-by-step tour on the VS Code Welcome page, from installing an SDK to your first debug session.
